The Great Sunflower Hunt
growing up as a child I spent a lot of time in the car driving the back roads and looking for adventure with my family. We would hunt for playgrounds, streams to play in or just drive to look at nature around us. Now as a parent and photographer we drive the back roads seeking adventure and hunt for beautiful location to shoot landscapes and portraits for you my photo family.
Now to this past weekends adventure. The Hunt for the Sunflower Patch! I have been on the hunt for a sunflower patch all summer and finally got a general location from a large format photographer in Berks. So off we went on a Saturday morning to the Morgantown area.
I always say the best adventure is one where you do not find the destination right away and this one was takes the cake! We drove side roads, main roads, and random parking lots till we fond the patch behind a car wash. YEAH A CAR WASH!
It was a little slice of heaven in the most unexpected place. Needless to say my children loved being able to run around this wonderful patch of sunflowers. I chatted with two ladies who where cutting some of the flowers for a center piece, that the car wash owner does this for the enjoyment of locals. Take photo's, cut some for home and enjoy and just share this with the owners online. This is what I will be doing and I am thankful that a small business owner does this for his community.
Please Wash Me in Elverson Pa. is next to a cute park that my peanuts ran off too after they had fun in the patch. It is a nice two experience adventure for the kids and it allowed me to take my time and find lots of details in nature.
This is a wonderful spot I would love to return in the evening to shoot more photos and take some of my photo family members for a session. would you like to shoot with some sunflowers? If so please email me at email@example.com
